New Agents
You are new to real estate and we are here to help! Thank you for choosing The Real Estate School to be your professional development resource as you begin to build your business.
Getting Started
Now that you have earned your license, here is what you need to know to maintain it.
In your first year of licensure, you will need 30 hours of Post Licensure (PL) education. There are three tracks you can choose from which to complete your 30 hours: Residential, Property Management or Commercial.
Residential Post Licensure Requirements
(click link above to view graph in PDF format)
15 hours Mandatory Topics:
- 3 hours of Ethics
- 3 hours Fair Housing
- 3 hours Real Estate Law
- 3 hours Agency Law
- 3 hours Offer to Purchase
15 hours of Electives:
These hours can be completed in any topic you are interested in as long as it carries Post Licensure (PL) credit.

Second Year
During your second year of licensure, after completing your PL requirement, you will have a year in which your education hours will not accrue for renewal credit. Once you renew your license on your two-year anniversary, you will then begin taking Continuing Education (CE) credits every two years in order to renew your license.
